The Capital Tax Story
Back in the 90's, Bruce (our founder) was speaking with a CPA friend who explained that he was able to “make a deal” with the IRS for delinquent taxpayers and was able to sell a few new clients a month at about $900 each. The CPA was very excited because these clients were very happy to pay him what averaged out at $200 an hour. At the time, that was about triple his usual hourly rate. Bruce offered to apply his own marketing expertise to the tax negotiation business. In the first week, his strategy brought in more customers than the CPA had landed in five years. Capitol Tax was born and went on to service 15,000+ clients over the next ten years. On top of that, Capitol Tax saved their customers many millions in taxes.
Around this time, Bruce heard about a tax saving seminar offered by Murray Bradford. Bruce was so excited by the brochure’s promise of $7,500 in new deductions or your money back that he flew to Boise to catch the next seminar. His tax savings doubled the promised amount. Shocked that his expensive Beverly Hills CPA had not informed him of Bradford’s strategies he began to develop the ideas that led to today’s Capitol Tax Advisors.
